INSPIRATIONAL BAPTIST CHURCH
– Forest Park, OH
This $10 million worship center is a single story 65,000 sq ft building on a 14-acre site. The center includes a 1,600-seat auditorium, sanctuary, classrooms, office space, and a complete gymnasium. The building is primarily steel frame and joist construction with limited bearing walls, and four different roof elevations within the building. The sanctuary (auditorium) has bar joists spanning 160 feet with a lighting catwalk suspended from the bar joists. The sanctuary also has a classroom mezzanine that can be converted into additional seating for the sanctuary.

ST. MARGARET OF YORK
– Cincinnati, OH
This 36,000 sq ft church has an 8,000 sq ft basement and a main worship space that is 15,000 sq ft with exposed architectural steel tube roof trusses with curved bottom chord members. An operable glass partition separates the main worship space from the main corridor. The two-story gathering space is octagon shaped with a vaulted ceiling. Mechanical equipment was placed on mezzanines tucked inside of the roof attics.

RIVER HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH
– Loveland, OH
Steven Schaefer Associates provided the structural design for this 28,000 sq ft two-story church with a partial lower level. The campus features a 555-seat auditorium with expandable seating and a column-free sloped floor, a large expandable stage with a 32 ft wide projection screen, outdoor covered porches, and a 44 ft high glass enclosed rotunda and lobby. The main sloping roof is supported with bar joists supported by steel beams and joist girders. The remaining flat roof area is supported with bar joists and metal deck. The floors are framed with bar joists and steel beams, typically supported by steel columns. The majority of the lateral loads are resisted by braced frames. Exterior walls will be a combination of metal studs and metal siding on girts.

VINEYARD RESOURCE CENTER CHAPEL ADDITION
– Springdale, Ohio
We provided the structural design for this 9,000 sq ft addition to the Vineyard Church Resource Center. The single story addition contains a chapel, office, and meeting space. The chapel is constructed with a complex system of architecturally exposed structural steel moment frames and wood plank roof. The office and meeting areas attached to the irregular shaped chapel were constructed using steel framing and bar joists.

CINCINNATI BIBLE COLLEGE WORSHIP CENTER
– Cincinnati, OH
Steven Schaefer Associates provided the structural design for this 43,000 sq ft building on the Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary Campus. The two-story irregular shaped building houses a large chapel with a balcony, multiple classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, and a coffee house. The building is constructed with several types of framing including large exposed glulam structural arches, masonry walls, precast floors, and wood roof trusses. The building is constructed on a hillside and supported on a combination of spread footings and drilled piers.
